The Kansas City Royals are World Series champions. It's a sentence I can't believe I just typed. And it's true!
The Chiefs were flying back from London last night -- it's a nine-hour flight -- when the Royals officially took the crown so they didn't hear the championship news until they landed back in Kansas City. Too bad they couldn't be watching it live but I guess you don't make the NFL schedule with the Royals title hopes in mind.
It's an incredible accomplishment for the Royals. I live in a championship city. It's surreal. Here's to the Chiefs getting their shot at a title.
Chiefs players, and BJ Kissel, reacted to the championship news early this morning when they landed.
Little late to the party because we just landed from London.... BUT WE #TOOKTHECROWN!!!
