Chiefs' Clark Hunt will meet with San Diego mayor over Chargers stadium issue

Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is on the NFL's Los Angeles committee to decide who goes to Los Angeles -- the Chargers, Raiders, Rams or some combination of those three.

The Chiefs are headed to San Diego this weekend to play the Chargers and on that trip Hunt will meet with San Diego mayor Kevin Faulconer, who presented to owners last week on local stadium progress. This according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Hunt will be the fifth member of a six-owner NFL special committee focused on Los Angeles franchise relocations that Faulconer has met with since late September. Faulconer said he's still working to schedule a meeting with the sixth owner, Bob McNair of the Houston Texans.

The goal of the meetings is to lobby key owners to keep the Chargers in San Diego, where Faulconer has spent the last 10 months trying to get a modern NFL venue built on the same site as aging Qualcomm stadium.

Faulconer already met with the Giants' John Mara, Patriots' Robert Kraft, Panthers' Jerry Richardson and the Steelers' Art Rooney II.
