Mid-week injuries can be a concern which is why I'm wondering what's up with DE Allen Bailey, the Chiefs defensive lineman who popped up on the injury report on Thursday. Bailey wasn't listed there on Wednesday but on Thursday there he was, listed as a did not practice with a calf injury. Because it happened mid-week there is less time to heal than if this happened in a game.
The Chiefs will need to make their final injury declarations this afternoon and I will be curious to see where Bailey is listed. In the scenario that Bailey can't play, it's good that the Chiefs are getting DE Mike DeVito back from a concussion, which cost him a couple weeks. DeVito and Jaye Howard can handle the ends while Dontari Poe mans the middle.
The Chiefs also saw the return of LB Tamba Hali to the practice field. He has had some time off -- 'Just maintenance", Andy Reid calls it -- as he deals with a knee issue that's been going on all season. Expect Tamba to be ready on Sunday.
Also of note, rookie TE James O'Shaughnessy is a new listing on the injury report on Thursday with a foot injury. He was a limited participant in practice on Thursday.
