This week's NFL power rankings are similar to last week's. The Kansas City Chiefs are not the best team in the league ... but they're not the worst!
We're going to learn quite a bit about the Chiefs in the next few weeks when they play the Broncos, Chargers and Bills. The most difficult game there is clearly the Broncos. It's not a must-win at this point but it's close. It's not insane to think the Chiefs could get back to 9-7 on the season but you could use the same logic to predict they end the season 7-9. We just don't know which Chiefs team we'll get.
Here's what ESPN, SB Nation and others are saying about the Chiefs this week...
Don't look now, but the Chiefs are in the playoff hunt, sitting at 3-5 and carrying a two-game win streak out of the bye. Sure, the club is without its best player, but if the defense stays hot and the offense fares as it did overseas, maybe Kansas City can make some noise down the stretch. A big key to that potential development: How much balance can Charcandrick West provide to the offense in Jamaal Charles' stead as the weather turns?
So the Chiefs get an angry Broncos team in Denver on Sunday? Good luck.
Here's a head scratcher - two of their three best rushing performances this year came after Jamaal Charles' ACL injury.
Can the Chiefs win three in a row? They take on Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Week 10. Manning is 14-1 overall and 7-0 with the Broncos when facing the Chiefs.
The Chiefs have come alive on the defensive side of the ball in recent weeks, but if they want to get things going on offense, they might want to get rookie wide receiver Chris Conley (15 targets last three games) more involved.
