NFL odds Week 8: Chiefs are 5-point favorites over Lions

The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to London as favorites. According to the latest NFL odds for Week 8, the Chiefs are now a five-point favorite over the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium. The Chiefs opened as a three-point favorite.

The odds have been higher on the Chiefs each week than Chiefs fans have. While we were talking about the end of the Chiefs playoff chances, the odds still believed in the Chiefs as they were big favorites over the Bears, slight 'dogs over the Vikings on the road and favorites over the Steelers at Arrowhead last week (granted against Landry Jones).

The Lions don't seem all that different from the Chiefs in that they were expected to compete for a playoff spot but had a horrible start to the season. The Lions sit at 1-6 on the season with their sole win coming over a team that beat the Chiefs at home: Chicago Bears.

The Chiefs have a little bit of momentum after last week's 10-point win over Pittsburgh. The defense has been playing better against opponents that have been struggling offensively so I suspect that will continue this week against Matthew Stafford, who injured his hand last week but is expected to play.
