Chiefs' Jeremy Maclin, Mike DeVito remain out with concussions as Steelers week begins

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs have a few injury updates for the start of Pittsburgh Steelers week, including the status of WR Jeremy Maclin and DE Mike DeVito, who will not practice with concussions.

The Chiefs need to be ready in the event that Maclin can't play. That would fall to Albert Wilson and Chris Conley, who finished up the game last week after Maclin wnt out.

The situation with DeVito could depend on the status of Dontari Poe, who is back to practice (perhaps only limited) after his high ankle sprain two weeks ago. Poe is a freak so I'm not surprised he's practicing.

If Poe plays then that makes replacing DeVito a little easier because the Chiefs will also have Jaye Howard available. But if Poe doesn't play then Howard would likely take his spot which would leave (I am guessing) Nick Williams to fill in along the defensive line.

We'll know more as the week goes on but I wouldn't be counting on those concussion players to be available this week.
