The Kansas City Chiefs are not very good at covering wide receivers

The fall from grace of the Kansas City Chiefs secondary has been almost unbelievable, and this stat shows why. Check out where opposing wide receivers rank against the Chiefs defense:

Compare this to the 2014 version here. Opposing wide receivers have caught more passes for more yards and more touchdowns against the Chiefs secondary than anyone else in the NFL.

This was a secondary that didn't allow a 300-yard passer all of last season. They have done so three times this season.

They gave up 13 touchdowns to wide receivers all of last season. They have given up 11 in five games this season.

They were picked on a LOT last year -- fourth in the NFL in wide receiver targets. But they held those receivers in check for the most part, ranking 19th in wide receiver yards. They are leading the NFL right right now.

What a weird situation.
