The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Chicago Bears, 18-17. This was the worst Chiefs loss I remember in a while. I don't know what to say...
The Chiefs move to 1-4 on the season. If you tell me the season is over, I wouldn't have much of an argument.
The Chiefs blew it in the worst way possible
I just can't ... I can't even. The Chiefs were up 17-3 and had the ball inside the 10-yard line when Jamaal Charles went down with an injury. They then lost the game.
The Chiefs then led the game 17-6 with three minutes left. The Bears scored a touchdown on a beautiful pass from Jay Cutler to make it 17-12. Their two point conversion was no good.
The Chiefs offense got the ball and went three and out and gave it back to Chicago with two minutes left. The Bears then drove down the field and scored with 18 seconds left to take the lead and the win.
Here is the play that sunk the Chiefs:
This was a BAD loss. Really bad.
Marcus Peters' pass interference killed the Chiefs
The Bears went deep at Peters with less than a minute left and he was flagged for pass interference. It was an awful penalty that gave the Bears the ball inside the 15-yard line. Chicago would go onto score and win the game.
I'm not blaming Peters for the loss obviously -- I'm not even convinced it was a great call -- but without that play I'm not sure the Bears win.
Jamaal Charles injury is a big problem
UPDATE: Chiefs confirm it's a torn ACL for Jamaal.
This is what everyone is talking about as this game ends. Jamaal went down with a non-contact injury to his right knee. It did not look good and reports are saying the Chiefs fear he has a torn ACL. Click here for all of the information we have on it right now.
We were frustrated that the Chiefs were passing so much in the first half and then in the second half they came out running the hell out of the ball on nearly every play. The Chiefs got into the red zone and then it happened. Jamaal tried to cut back to his left and his right knee just buckled. Any fan who has watched football has seen an ACL injury so that was the initial fear. We're still waiting news from the Chiefs on what it is.
Charcandrick West was the next man up with Jamaal's injury. He fits in the Chiefs passing downs better than Knile Davis does but we'll see how the Chiefs handle it if it's a long-term injury.
I'll admit that my analysis of most of the second half is lacking because it was hard to concentrate after Jamaal went down.
I'm not even mad at this Jay Cutler throw
Holy crap this was a hell of a throw by Cutler to trim the Chiefs lead to 17-12. Wow. I can't even be mad about this.
Few QB's in the league can make this throw. pic.twitter.com/Pj891j5VHQ
