So I'm surprised: The Kansas City Chiefs DID sign quarterback Terrelle Pryor today. This according to Pryor's Twitter account (and further confirmed by the Star's Terez Paylor).

[Update: Free agent WR Da'Rick Rogers also says he's a Chief]
Also working out for the Chiefs on Wednesday was free agent and former CFL receiver Duron Carter, son of Cris Carter. Pryor and Carter briefly spent some time together at Ohio State so I thought that may have been part of the connection for bringing Pryor in for a workout. Obviously the Chiefs like Pryor enough because they've signed him to a one-year deal.
Threw to @criscarter80 son Duron today!! Buckeye ! Kid is a beast!

I didn't expect the Chiefs to sign him right away but they do have plenty of roster spots right now. But they won't have enough reps for all of them to go around during training camp. I can't see the Chiefs carrying five quarterbacks for very long. This move brings about some very curious questions. If the Chiefs were going to drop one of their four other quarterbacks -- Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray, Aaron Murray -- who would it be? I can make an argument for any of those guys.
This was reported to be a workout specifically as a quarterback for Pryor, not a receiver. So Pryor is a quarterback in Kansas City.
Also, because I have no other place to put this, here's Mayor Sly James weighing in on the Pryor signing.
@TerezPaylor I don't think Chase is a cap casualty but I do think he is trade bait. Pryor=cheaper experience & 1year to develop another QB.
