When you go a full season without a wide receiver touchdown, you're going to be looking for receivers. One such receiver who should be highly sought after if he hits free agency is Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb, who finished up his rookie contract.
With the John Dorsey connection, the Chiefs are a team that folks have mentioned with Randall Cobb. It's not yet free agency so plenty can and will change but he looks like someone the Chiefs might want to consider if he's available and the Chiefs have the money for it.
For his part, Cobb tells Ben Heisler of 610 Sports (audio here) that he hasn't thought about his impending free agency.
"I haven't even really thought that far ahead," Cobb said. "I'm just seeing how it all works out in free agency and we'll see what happens."
Since he was talking to a receiver, Heisler was required to mention the Chiefs stat about no receiver touchdowns, to which Cobb replied, "I might be able to get into the end zone."
I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing him try.
