The game will take place in two weeks, which gives both Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll plenty of time to prepare. The last time these two teams met back in 2012, the Seahawks beat the Patriots, 24-23, behind 14 fourth quarter points. The game was played in Seattle.
This time around, the Seahawks are the favorites in this game. Super Bowl 49 opened up as a 2.5-point favorite for Seattle but has moved to a pick'em in some spots and a 1-point Seattle line in other places. Obviously, folks are expecting this one to be a close game (as they should).
I'm picking the Patriots in this game. No, I don't really have a good reason to. I did pick the Packers to beat the Seahawks, and I was about two and a half minutes away from accurately picking that upset before Seattle's amazing comeback.
New England is such a well-balanced team. They can run the ball when they need to as we saw with LeGarrette Blount's 148 yards on 30 carries in the AFC Championship game. They have Tom Brady so you know they can pass the ball well.
You can easily make a case for the Seahawks to win this game. Just take one look at what they did to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48 and it's obvious they're capable of winning. I just have enough faith that Belichick, with two weeks to prepare, can come up with a game plan to give New England a win.
