The Kansas City Chiefs entered the 2014 NFL season ranked right around the middle of the pack in initial 2014 NFL power rankings. After a 16-point loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, how far will the Kansas City Chiefs fall in Week 2?
I picked out three power rankings for the Chiefs. SB Nation's No. 18 ranking seems too high after such a flat performance at home and losing two key defensive players. CBS Sports seems too low to me but others would agree that it's about right. Yahoo! Sports looks like the most accurate one to me -- the Chiefs are the best of the bad teams at the bottom right now. Let's hope they're not sticking around that area.
SB Nation: 18
"Is there such thing as a Pyrrhic defeat? No? Just worse-than-normal loss? OK. Well that's what Week 1 felt like for KC. Not only did the Chiefs lose badly to the Titans, they lost Mike DeVito and Derrick Johnson to season-ending injuries. Not all is lost though -- it's only one week, and Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles have a chance to get the offense back to the where it was last season."
Yahoo! Sports: 23
"I didn't move them down any further based on the vapors of last season, but man, 9-0 seems like forever ago."
CBS Sports: 27
"They didn't even compete at home against a Titans team that isn't supposed to be that good. This will be a long season."
Pro Football Talk: 22
"Alex Smith’s 45.2 passer rating shows how smart it was for him to take the $45 million guaranteed."
