Kansas City Chiefs fans did not get to see one of the most exciting offseason additions when they lined up in Week 1 as fourth round pick RB De'Anthony Thomas was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Will DAT play in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos? Andy Reid didn't sound all that confident when asked about him on Monday.
"It'll be a fight for him to get there," Reid said, via quotes from the Chiefs. "Those things normally take a little bit longer, but we'll see. We'll see how he does."
Hmm ... this isn't exactly encouraging. I was really hoping DAT would play in this game not only because I want to see him in a real game but also because they need him. If the Chiefs are going to hang with the Broncos, they're probably going to need an impact from special teams, where DAT is a punt returner.
The Chiefs will practice on Wednesday through Friday. We'll know more by the end of the about his status.
