I am not sure if this is new from the Kansas City Chiefs but I love that the Chiefs are rewarding season ticket holders (STH) for being loud.
The Chiefs sent an email to STHs last night and under the header "Arrowhead Impact" they stated that they would receive points to their account for the opponent's false starts. These points give season ticket holders the chance to purchase unique items like game-issued jerseys.
"From false starts to delays of game, to create the greatest home field advantage in the NFL we need you. Season Ticket Members who attend the game will earn 10 points (per account) for every yard the opponent loses in false starts and delays of game. You have the ability to make an impact on the field, so let them hear you and get rewarded."
I love this idea. There are few things a Chiefs fan takes more pride in than false starts by the opponent. Fans can make a real, live impact on the game that way, and seeing the refs blow their whistles due to a delay of game or the opponent calling a timeout in frustration is just about the best feeling a fan can have.
The Chiefs are supposedly topping 60,000 in season ticket holders so this would be most of the stadium.
Great idea by the Chiefs.
