The roster moves continue for the Kansas City Chiefs, who added free agent safety Kurt Coleman to the roster. This according to Coleman's agent who tweeted the news.
Congratulations to my man @k4coleman on signing with the @KCChiefs. Selfishly wanted him in MN, but great spot, great opportunity. NFL Life!

The Chiefs are very thin at safety so I'm not surprised the Chiefs signed a veteran. Here's their current safety depth chart (with Coleman looking like a FS):
FS: Husain Abdullah, Kelcie McCray
SS: Eric Berry, Daniel Sorensen
Coleman, who is listed as a free safety, has 29 starts over the last four seasons -- with the Eagles. So we have the Andy Reid connection here. I wonder if he could get in on some of the Chiefs subpackage looks where another safety comes on the field. He could also be insurance should something happen to Eric Berry, who has been dealing with a heel injury.
This roster moves means the Chiefs have freed up another roster spot. Joe Mays looks like a candidate to be placed on short term IR after having wrist surgery. The Chiefs can place him on short term IR as of today.
