UPDATE SUNDAY PM: Jamaal Charles has been ruled OUT vs. Dolphins
As expected, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid was vague about whether Jamaal Charles will play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins with his injured ankle. Charles has been listed questionable for the game.
Here's what Reid said on Friday after Charles had practiced for the second consecutive day:
"Jamaal went through practice today," Reid said on Friday. "What we're going to do before we give you any update on it is see how he did today and how he feels after this practice. But he did practice and moved around and did a decent job. So we'll see how it all works out."
So basically you're not getting an update. This is basically what I predicted:
I would bet some money that when asked about Jamaal tomorrow, Andy Reid says, "We'll just see how it goes."— Arrowhead Pride (@ArrowheadPride) September 18, 2014
There's no reason for Reid to tell the media and thus the Dolphins what their plans with Charles are. Make the Dolphins prepare for both Charles and Knile Davis, who would replace Charles if he can't go. Even if Charles does play, I would expect to see more Davis than usual given Charles' ankle injury.
"He did OK," Reid continued. "He looked a little sore but he did OK. He worked yesterday. He loosened up. We'll just see how he does."
We will probably see how it goes on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. when the Chiefs line up. The Chiefs will issue their final injury report this afternoon and it would not surprise me to see Charles listed as questionable for the game.
