Eric Berry did not play in the preseason due to a heel injury, which has possibly popped up again. Berry left the Chiefs game against the Broncos in the second quarter on Sunday with an injury to his right foot. The Chiefs are calling it an ankle injury. We don't know if there's a connection to that heel.
Chiefs are saying ankle for Berry. Questionable return

He has since been ruled out for the game.

Berry was replaced by Ron Parker, who is actually a corner for the Chiefs but did previously play safety. The Chiefs ask a lot of their safeties so it's not reasonable to think Parker, the Chiefs third corner, could play to Berry's level.
Berry is the Chiefs starting safety and obviously their best player in the secondary. Losing him for any amount of time would be horrible for the Chiefs, who are already reeling in the secondary.
Berry left for the locker room shortly before halftime.
We'll bring any more updates we know.
