De'Anthony Thomas' NFL debut will wait another week, ruled out for Chiefs-Broncos

DAT will miss his second straight game.

Jeff Allen's season-ending injury wasn't the only notable injury news today. The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled De'Anthony Thomas out for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Thomas suffered a hamstring injury about nine days ago, the Wednesday before the Chiefs season opener. He did not play in Week 1 and now won't play in Week 2. Hamstring injuries can be the type that linger for a while, which Andy Reid indicated previously.

"Those things normally take a little bit longer, but we'll see," Reid said earlier this week.

The Chiefs put Frankie Hammond at DAT's punt return spot. Based on this touchdown return from DAT in the preseason, Chiefs fans really want to see him on the field. We'll have to wait another week for that to happen.

It's a really unfortunate start to an NFL career. Injuries suck.

Every other player on the injury report is probable and will be available.
