**Original post below**

It's deadline day for 2014 NFL roster cuts. The Kansas City Chiefs roster will be trimmed down from it's current number of 75 players all the way down to 53 players by this afternoon at 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time). Every other NFL team will be doing the same thing at the same time so there will be a lot of action this weekend.

We'll be tracking all the Chiefs cuts and rumors on Saturday right here.

32 NFL teams going from 75 to 53 players means there will be 704 more players on the street. Going back to last week with the 90-man rosters, there will be over 1,100 players becoming free agents this week.

The Chiefs hold the 23rd spot on the waiver wire. This is compared to the No. 1 spot last year where they took full advantage with seven waiver wire claims on roster cut down weekend. The Houston Texans hold the top waiver wire spot this year.

The Chiefs top needs entering cut downs include offensive line (all positions, really), inside linebacker, safety and receiver. At this stage though the Chiefs are looking for good values among other players released.

Below are some links on roster cut down weekend, including an interesting note on Tyler Bray as the Chiefs make their quarterback decision. After that is Nick Jacobs 53-man roster for your reference.

Players waived last Tuesday by Chiefs: OT Ryan McKee, CB Kevin Rutland, CB Damond Smith, WR Deon Anthony, DL Jairus Campbell, DT Jermell Cudjo, WR Weston Dressler, G Otis Hudson, WR Jerrell Jackson, CB Brandon Jones, CB Vernon Kearney, SJerron McMillian, TE Adam Schiltz, WR Darryl Surgent.

Sanders Commings was placed on IR.
