There was some very good and some very bad from AJ Jenkins in the Kansas City Chiefs preseason finale against the Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately, the bad is a concussion but let's start with the good.
His best play came on a 45-yard bomb from Tyler Bray down the right sideline. Jenkins had a step on the defender and dove to make the catch. I'm talking full extension dive. It was a great play and he somehow hung onto the ball. Jenkins has speed which is why plays like that need to happen more often.
The worst part of his game when he exited with a concussion. He'll need to go through the league's concussion protocol. This happened on a Thursday and the Chiefs don't play until the Sunday after next so they have time to work him back.
That is assuming he makes the team, which is no guarantee. I currently do not have AJ Jenkins on my Chiefs 53-man roster prediction. Many others do because he has some guaranteed money due to him. Just watching training camp and the preseason, he hasn't regularly stood out to me.
Chiefs WR Kyle Williams also left the game with a shoulder injury.
The Chiefs will be making their cut downs to 53 players on Saturday.
