Chiefs roster cuts: 3 more moves coming by Tuesday deadline

The KC Chiefs will make three more roster moves today.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs started Monday with 90 players on the roster. They ended the day with 78 players after releasing 11 and placing S Sanders Commings on injured reserve.

This means the Chiefs still have three roster moves to make to get down to the NFL mandated 75 man roster limit by 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to Commings on IR, the Chiefs released the following players on Monday morning: WR Deon Anthony, DL Jairus Campbell, DT Jermell Cudjo, WR Weston Dressler, G Otis Hudson, WR Jerrell Jackson, CB Brandon Jones, CB Vernon Kearney, S Jerron McMillian, TE Adam Schiltz, WR Darryl Surgent.

Here is a link to the Chiefs depth chart entering the final week of preseason. You'll want to keep an eye on the third string players. Those are the ones that are likely in trouble as we await the Chiefs cut down to 75 players on Tuesday, and the cut down to 53 players on Saturday afternoon.

Here's a link to the snap counts from the Vikings-Chiefs preseason game. Note that some of the players cut already did not play in that game. There are a handful of other third string players who did not play, which could be a hint as to what's coming.
