The KC Chiefs haven't announced yet whether Jamaal Charles will play in the third preseason game on Saturday night against the Minnesota Vikings. This is just speculation but I would not bet on him playing. Charles hurt his foot moving out of the dorms at training camp last week and did not play in the second preseason game. There seems little reason to play him on Saturday night, and the Chiefs actions seem to support that.
ESPN's Adam Teicher, the KC Star's Terez Paylor and others reported that at Thursday's practice Jamaal lined up with the scout team. Why would the Chiefs play him on the scout team? Probably because they don't plan to play him in the third preseason game.
Which leads to this, which ESPN's Ed Werder just put out there:
Andy Reid not expecting Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe to play. He joked if not playing in preseason OK for Adrian Peterson, fine for Jamaal.

Jamaal not playing because of an injury feels like bad news but it's actually good news. If he practiced a little bit, it shows his injury is not significant. If Jamaal doesn't play at all in the preseason, we know he'll be healthy for Week 1 ... unless he has to move some boxes again.
As for Dwayne Bowe, he suffered a quad injury sometime in the last week, and has yet to practice this week. So it's an easy guess that he won't play either. Another one is Eric Berry, who has also been dealing with an injury. It wouldn't surprise me if the Chiefs sat him, too.
