The Kansas City Chiefs made a trade on Thursday afternoon, sending guard Rishaw Johnson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for safety Kelcie McCray. You can meet the Chiefs new safety with his 2013 season highlights in the video above (H/T @pgsween).
It sounds like McCray was actually pulled from the field during the Bucs practice. This tweet came about two hours before the trade.
Safety Kelcie McCray left practice early. Not sure exactly what that means. Could have been just a break. #Bucspractice— Rick Brown (@LedgeronBucs) August 21, 2014
Read more about our take on the trade here. It's two reserve players so if McCray makes the 53-man roster, I consider that a win. Find some trade reactions below.
Smith said Johnson has played some center in addition to guard which provides flexibility.— PewterReport.com (@PewterReport) August 21, 2014
Safety Kelcie McCray, traded from Bucs to Chiefs, best known for forcing fumble from Lions' Calvin Johnson late in Tampa's win at Detroit.— Greg Auman (@gregauman) August 21, 2014
Chiefs trade OG Rishaw Johnson to Bucs for FS Kelcie McCray. Both teams taking a chance on players at positions of need, I like it— Steve Palazzolo (@PFF_Steve) August 21, 2014
New Bucs G Rishaw Johnson played 19 snaps in Chiefs' preseason opener, then 13 last week. Looks like it was with third-team offensive line.— Greg Auman (@gregauman) August 21, 2014
Just watched the new guard a bit in the first two preseason games. I saw two obvious holding penalties on him but he at least looks to be— Stephen White (@sgw94) August 21, 2014
A physical run blocker, decent with his hands in pass pro but his feet tend to stop too much which gets him in some trouble.— Stephen White (@sgw94) August 21, 2014
