8/19 Practice Report: Chiefs Preparing Like It's The Regular Season This Week from The Mothership

Pederson said this week will be more like the regular season in terms of their daily responsibilities and schedule.

"For the coaching staff, to kind of get into a game-plan [and a] normal week [both] assignment-wise and practice schedule-wise, it gives us that dry run before the opening weekend," Pederson said.

Veteran quarterback Chase Daniel said it's good for the players as well.

On WR Frankie Hammond: "Frankie has come in here since day one [of] OTAs and just continued to work hard. He's showed flashes last year actually on the service team against our defense and worked there and he's just put himself in a good position. He's a smart kid. He's put on some weight, some strength and he had a nice game the other night. You never know what the roster is going to look like game one. We're still in the process of evaluating every player and he definitely put himself in a position to do some good things and warrant some more playing time."

Sept. 7 deadline coming quickly for Eric Fisher - ESPN

There’s a deadline of sorts for Fisher in that quest. It’s not Saturday night’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings at Arrowhead Stadium or the final exhibition game on Aug. 28 against the Packers in Green Bay. It’s the regular season opener on Sept. 7 against the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead. Fisher has three weeks to prepare himself, and he needs to take advantage of every minute.

Chiefs practice report - ESPN

Wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr. took a lot of the starter's snaps that otherwise would have gone to Dwayne Bowe, who didn't practice because of what the Chiefs called a sore quad muscle.
