Doesn't appear Jamaal Charles showed up to Kansas City Chiefs training camp today

It does not appear Jamaal Charles showed up to the first day of Kansas City Chiefs training camp.

I spent the day at Kansas City Chiefs training camp in St. Joe and did not see any sign of RB Jamaal Charles, who is reportedly set to be a holdout barring a new deal. Reports on Tuesday night indicated the Chiefs believed Charles would show. But there appears to be no sign of him as we sit here on Wednesday afternoon.

The veteran players were scheduled to arrive this afternoon. The media camped out by the entrance of their dorm and we saw player after player walk in ... but no sign of Jamaal Charles.

Justin Houston was another holdout candidate and while I did not personally see him walk in, Tamba Hali told us today that he heard Houston is expected to show up, which jives with other reports we heard on that.

After the media availability ended this afternoon, I left Chiefs camp not expecting to see Jamaal. Several reporters, including ESPN's Adam Teicher and the KC Star's Terez Paylor, are reporting that Jamaal did not show up before the 3 p.m. reporting deadline.

The CBA indicates this move-in day is day one of training camp. No appearance by Jamaal would mean he is a holdout.

The Chiefs first practice begins on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time).

We're tracking all things Jamaal Charles here.
