Chiefs' Alex Smith finished with an eagle on 18 American Century Championship

New, comments

KC Chiefs QB Alex Smith shot an 82 in his first round at the American Century Championship.

When the pressure has been on in the NFL, Alex Smith has balled out in the playoffs with nearly 900 yards and nine touchdowns to zero interceptions.  Maybe there's something to this pressure with Smith. On the final hole of the American Century Championship on Friday, Smith put up an eagle.

So Alex Smith started off really hot, cooled off at the halfway point but re-loaded for the final hole. This is a microcosm of the Chiefs season, folks. His 82 puts him tied for 42nd.

Trent Green is tied for 80th -- at least he broke 100? Currently leading everyone? An Iraq war veteran. The real stunner here is that Charles Barkley is not in last place. Watch this for the ugliest swing in golf history. Catch the leaderboard here.

Smith tees off today at 10:05 a.m. (Arrowhead Time). Here are a few more pics of his time at the American Century Championship.
