NFL players gush about Chiefs S Eric Berry on NFL Network's top 100

NFL Network's list of the top 100 players puts KC Chiefs safety Eric Berry at No. 50.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry was voted the 50th best player in the NFL, according to a poll of players via NFL Network. This comes after Derrick Johnson was voted the 64th best player.

Below is a sampling of quotes from players who were featured in Berry's video announcing him as the 50th best player.

Bengals LB Emmanuel Lamur

  • He's a playmaker. He makes plays. Being a hybrid as a corner, high safety and sometimes in the box, put him wherever you want and he just makes plays.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen

  • He'll make a hit. He doesn't miss too many tackles and he can get out there and cover you one-on-one. Eric Berry shows a lot of greatness.

Raiders RB Darren McFadden

  • He's been doing a great job in this league. Coming in as a rookie, he's been doing a great job and he's continued to do that the last couple of years.

Raiders WR Rod Streater

  • They that they're a defensive back because they can't catch but this guy is out there catching everything that comes his way. He has great hands.
  • I had a fade going across the field. I thought I was wide open. I saw the ball coming and then out of nowhere he just jumped right across then picked it off.
  • I would say he is the best safety in the sport right now.

Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin

  • Fast, athletic. It's pretty cool he doesn't play with any gloves on. It's kind of like old school. He's one of the top safeties in this league.
  • In time, he can go down as one of the greatest safeties to play the game. I think he has that kind of ability.

From NFL Network

  • 3rd Chiefs player to appear so far (Derrick Johnson #64 & Justin Houston #57)
  • 2nd time on list (2011 - 93)
  • 6th S to appear on the list thus far (Eric Weddle #92, T.J. Ward #82, Antrel Rolle #72, Kam Chancellor #65 & Troy Polamalu #61)
