Mel Kiper, Todd McShay final 2014 NFL mock draft picks are in

The 2014 NFL Draft is hours away, which means ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have made their final 2014 NFL mock draft picks for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The last time Mel Kiper and Todd McShay did a 2014 NFL mock draft they both had USC WR Marqise Lee going to the Kansas City Chiefs with the 23rd pick. This time around, Kiper keeps his selection as Lee while McShay switches things up to UCLA G Xavier Su'a-Filo.

Here is the Kiper mock draft and here is McShay's.

The selection of a receiver is not a surprise at all based on other mock drafts around the web. We rounded up 28 mock draft picks and 12 of the mocks picked Lee for the Chiefs, another six picked Oregon State WR Brandin Cooks, one vote for Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin and one for LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr. That's 28 mock drafts and 20 predictions for a receiver.

Kiper's mock has the Chiefs passing up QB Teddy Bridgewater and S Calvin Pryor.

The selection of a guard should be familiar as well. Nick Jacobs made the same pick in his final mock draft. This would obviously disappoint some fans because they want more of a playmaker in the first round. Yes, it would be boring but as with any other pick, we would be OK with it if the guy turns out to be a star. Unfortunately, that's the thing ... you don't know who will be a star and who won't.

The trend of receivers continues in the final SB Nation mock draft. Dan Kadar went with Brandin Cooks while Matthew Fairburn went with Marqise Lee. The KC Star's Terez Paylor has Lee has the pick. I'm taking Cooks among all of these options. Big fan of his.

Mike Mayock has the Chiefs going with Lee, too.

I can't wait for the draft this evening -- see the NFL Draft schedule here -- because we know there will be a surprise. Not only from a team trading up and taking a player no one expected, but also from the players the Chiefs
