Kansas City Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson is the 64th best player in the NFL, according to votes from his peers. The annual NFL Network top 100 show rolled on to 100-61 and DJ was the first Chief to appear.
"If you make the list, you definitely want to go as low as possible but at the same time this is a young man's league," DJ said on the broadcast. "Going on my 10th season, to get on this list, I'm very appreciative."
DJ is clearly the man on arguably the best linebacker group in the NFL.
"I'm a little biased when it comes to linebackers," DJ said. "We do the most on the defensive side of the ball. We're aggressive enough to play the run and fast enough to play the pass. We have a lot of responsibility on the field and an opportunity to make a lot of plays."
Make plays he does. It seems like a century ago when he was in Todd Haley's doghouse entering the 2009 season. Maybe that was the best thing to happen to him as DJ appears on the top 100 list for the third straight year.

The Chiefs will have five total players on the top 100 list so four more are coming. Jamaal Charles and ... ? DJ named Dontari Poe and Eric Berry as other options.
