We started collecting some tweets in our previous DeSean Jackson thread (that has 800+ comments!) but I figured I'd whittle the list down of the NFL folks who think the Chiefs should be interested in DeSean Jackson.
610 Sports Danny Parkins reported that the Chiefs were among the first teams to reach out and Yahoo! Sports Rand Getlin has the Chiefs, Raiders and Jets pursuing Jackson.
Here's our previous update with information on the Chiefs current cap space and whether they can afford Jackson, the official statement from Jackson where he thanks Andy Reid as well as Reid's recent comments on Jackson.
On cap space, the Chiefs currently have $4.5 million. They will need about $1.4 million to sign their draft picks.
Below is a list of those people who think DeSean Jackson would make sense for the Chiefs. We'll keep this updated for a while.
The #Chiefs, #Jets and #Raiders are all pursuing former #Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, per a league source.

Despite his release, DeSean Jackson will have a market. I could see Kansas City, Jets and maybe carolina leading the pack.

The Chiefs need an elite receiver, and Jackson excelled playing for Andy Reid in Philadelphia. But the Chiefs' inability to win a bidding war would make signing Jackson difficult. -- Adam Teicher - ESPN
Just asked @ClaytonESPN who he see's Desean Jackson signing with. Named #Chiefs and #Jets but leaned towards KC being willing to do more.

Hardest thing to obtain when making veteran player acquisitions is accurate information. The #Chiefs & #Jets have a major advantage.

If they can agree on compensation, they have the greatest chance to make an informed decision on D. Jackson that would benefit either team.

Salary cap room is the major problem here, but Jackson would fit on the team perfectly. Andy Reid knows Jackson's strengths and weaknesses. Kansas City needs receivers after losing out on the Emmanuel Sanders sweepstakes.

Chiefs and DeSean Jackson makes sense. A lot of sense.

Andy Reid had DeSean Jackson for five years with no apparent problems. I wonder if the Chiefs are a logical destination.

Every team could use DeSean Jackson the player, but how many will want all that apparently comes with it? Chiefs seem a good guess.

IMO, don't see a team signing @DeseanJackson10 before next week. Interested teams will do background homework and make calls to PHI/KC.

I can confirm reports the #Chiefs are among the teams pursuing DeSean Jackson. I’m told there are several other teams interested, however.
