The Kansas City Chiefs spent the latter part of this week trying to reel in wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. It appears their effort went in vein, with a painful twist to it.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos are expected to ink Sanders, continuing what appears to be John Elway's latest attempt at signing every player on the free agent market.
Neither team nor player's agent will confirm, but Broncos are expected to sign former Steelers WR Emmauel Sanders, per league sources.

This is a very strange happening. Sanders was not rumored anywhere to be heading to Denver while visiting the Chiefs. In fact, Sanders is supposed to be visiting the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night, after spending time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier in the week.
Sanders would be replacing Eric Decker for the Broncos, after the former Minnesota Golden Gopher signed a five-year deal with the New York Jets. Last year was Sanders' best, hauling in 67 passes for 740 yards and six touchdowns.
Update: Sanders has signed.
As usual, @AdamSchefter is dead-on. Source confirms to @FOXSports1 that @Broncos agreed to contract terms with @steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders

Not saying Emmanuel Sanders won't wind up with Broncos, as @AdamSchefter reported, but sources say not yet, something could happen Sunday
