Before you head off to bed this evening, we have a Kansas City Chiefs free agency rumor for you. Adam Caplan reports that the KC Chiefs have an interest in Joe Mays, former Texans, Broncos and Eagles linebacker.
#Chiefs are interested in veteran ILB Joe Mays, who Andy Reid selected in the 6th round of the 2008 draft.

Mays appeared in 14 games last year for the Texans, picking up 66 tackles. He was drafted by Andy Reid in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft so that's your Chiefs connection. Mays was with the Eagles for two seasons, then was traded to the Broncos in 2010 where he lasted until inking a 1-year deal with the Texans last season.
Mays could fill the Chiefs need at inside linebacker. Akeem Jordan is a free agent and reportedly drawing interest from multiple teams. If he leaves, the Chiefs are left with 2013 fourth round pick Nico Johnson, who is kind of an unknown at this point.
Of course, Chiefs fans remember Joe Mays for something else. While he was with the Broncos, Mays drilled then Chiefs tight end Tony Moeaki on an onside kick.
