ESPN mock drafts see Chiefs taking a receiver in first round - Kansas City Star

To hear ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. tell it, the Chiefs could go in several different directions with their first-round pick come May. "They could go wide receiver, they could look for a defensive lineman, they could look for a safety or a tight end," Kiper said during a conference call Thursday. But Kiper, who also released his second mock draft Thursday, said that the depth of one of those positions, in particular, could present the Chiefs with a general manager’s dream: a chance to take the best player at a position of need. "Because of the great depth and talent at receiver and that’s something I think the Chiefs need to add, I think probably the first round would be the chance to do it," Kiper said.

Reports: Ravens To Hire WRs Coach Bobby Engram - BaltimoreRavens.com

The Ravens are reportedly set to complete their offensive coaching staff by hiring Bobby Engram as their wide receivers coach, according to coachingsearch.com. Engram would replace Jim Hostler, who after six years in Baltimore left to join the Buffalo Bills once he was not hired as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator. Engram was an NFL receiver for 14 seasons, splitting his career between the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs.

Rookie report: OT Eric Fisher - ESPN

Fisher could be the Chiefs’ starting left tackle in 2014 and beyond. Branden Albert is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent and could be too pricey for the Chiefs to re-sign. That would mean more pressure would be on Fisher to improve and do so quickly. It’s reasonable to believe Fisher can still become the player the Chiefs envisioned when they drafted him No. 1 overall.

Chiefs could cut Weston Dressler at no cost - ESPN

If recently signed wide receiver Weston Dressler doesn't impress the Kansas City Chiefs with his play during the offseason, training camp and the preseason, they can release Dressler at no cost. The three-year contract signed by Dressler is worth $1.53 million but contains no bonuses. The salaries are the minimum each year: $420,000 in 2014, $510,000 in 2015, $600,000 in 2016.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Thursday that the club has hired former University of Missouri and NFL running back Brock Olivo to serve as the team's Assistant Special Teams Coach. Olivo joins the Chiefs after two seasons (2012-13) as an assistant coach with Coastal Carolina where he coached the running backs and assisted on special teams.

Report: Broncos Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio Agrees To A New Two Year Deal - Mile High Report

According to The Denver Posts Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have signed Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio to a new two year deal. The deal is expected to be finalized on Friday.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Alex Smith Relists Los Gatos Home - Realtor.com

The veteran QB was quick to list the Bay Area property after being dealt by the Niners to the Chiefs for a pair of draft picks during the 2013 off-season. The house was originally offered for $3.25 million but has now returned to the market for $300,000 less — $2.95 million. With Smith’s listing, there are now two homes owned by former No.1 draft picks currently on the market in California. In Bakersfield, former Fresno State star and onetime Houston Texans face-of-the-franchise QB David Carr is currently shopping his own mansion, a six-bedroom spread that currently lists for $2.8 million.

Temple smothered by SMU - Philly.com

Deion Sanders was at Moody Coliseum on Thursday night, but the Temple Owls were not ready for prime time. With the Hall of Fame cornerback looking on - as were Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, Mavericks center Samuel Dalembert, and Kansas City Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt - the Owls wilted under defensive pressure and lost, 75-52, to Larry Brown's Southern Methodist team.
