Chiefs Running Backs: By The Numbers from The Mothership

Days after Kansas City Chiefs three-time Pro Bowl RB Jamaal Charles was honored as the 2013 Fantasy Football Player of the Year, it seems fitting to review the body of work done by the rest of Jamaal's running mates. We recently looked at Jamaal's spectacular season, including his 259 carries for 1,287 rushing yards and 12 TDs, added to his team-high 70 receptions for 693 yards and 7 TD receptions, but he would be the first to admit he couldn't achieve such ridiculously-good numbers without Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, RBs coach Eric Bieniemy, the Chiefs O-line and his fellow RBs.

Arrowhead Stadium Tours from The Mothership

Arrowhead Stadium is more than just the home of the Chiefs, it holds history, it has seen some of the greatest players in the NFL and serves as a gathering place every Sunday to unite and create the Sea of Red. Arrowhead Stadium is a place of pride for Kansas City and now fans can experience it behind the scenes in a new way.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs are offering Self-Guided Tours at Arrowhead. The tours will be offered on Saturdays and will include access to the newly-renovated Chiefs locker rooms, the Hall of Honor presented by Time Warner Cable, along with a chance to step on the sidelines and toss around game-used footballs.

Snapshot Of Chiefs Unrestricted Free Agents from Chiefs Spin

The 2014 NFL calendar kicks off on March 11, opening the door to the free agency period.

The Chiefs currently have 12 players scheduled to be unrestricted free agents, as annotated in early January by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).

Headlining the NFLPA's list are Pro Bowlers, left tackle Branden Albert and wide receiver/punt returner Dexter McCluster, and also key contributors, right guard Geoff Schwartz and safety/kick returner Quintin Demps.

Chiefs Add CFL WR Weston Dressler from ESPN

"He's not your prototypical big NFL receiver, but he's very savvy and crafty in his route running and that's what's given him a lot of success out there," Roughriders assistant general manager Jeremy O'Day told the Kansas City Star. "I don't think you'll find a tougher guy ... when he does get hurt, he plays through those injuries, and he doesn't want to come out of games and he doesn't want to miss practice."

The Chiefs have not announced the signing, which appeared on the NFL's transaction report.

Applaud KC's Effort For Signing Dressler from ESPN

General manager John Dorsey has shown a willingness to look in some offbeat places for players. It already paid off to an extent last season when the Chiefs claimed seven players off waivers at the start of the regular season. Three of them - defensive backs Marcus Cooper and Ron Parker and tight end Sean McGrath - helped them win a game at one point or another...

...Dorsey also loaded the Chiefs' practice squad with developmental prospects from small schools like Lane, West Alabama, California (Pa.) and Shepherd in the hope of mining a productive player.

Book About Tony Dungy Family Is About Family, Faith from The Tampa Bay Times

The officers showed up at the home just outside of Kansas City and knocked on the door.

As his two children looked on, the father answered and heard the officers exclaim, "You're under arrest." Then they took Tony Dungy to jail.

Yes, the ex-Bucs and Colts coach and all-around good guy revealed he once spent three hours in jail after failing to pay a $5 traffic citation.

"Suddenly, paying the five dollars seemed like a good idea," Dungy wrote in Uncommon Marriage, a book he co-wrote with his wife, Lauren, and Nathan Whitaker.

AT&T Pro-Am: From Quarterback To Golfer, A Familiar Transition from The Monterey Herald

"We're calling it the quarterback quartet," John bellowed within a nanosecond of being asked about NFL quarterbacks in the celebrity field of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, which tees off Thursday. "It's something, isn't it?"

With the late addition Monday of Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos, four current starting NFL quarterbacks are among the tournament's three dozen celebrity entrants.

Alex Smith of the Kansas City Chiefs, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers are also in the field...

...Smith (9 handicap) will play with pros Blake Adams and Brendon Todd and amateur Lucas Black, the actor who plays to a scratch, at 10:12 a.m., also at Spyglass Hill.

NFL Power Rankings Post-Season: Simon Veness Ranks The Gridiron Teams from Sky Sports

12. Kansas City (no change): How in the name of Hades does one of the regular season's best defences give up 45 points after being handed a 38-10 lead? Seriously, I'd like to know. Yes, we'd seen the old Houston Oilers blow up in more amazing fashion against Buffalo in 1993 (from 35-3 down), but the Chiefs' collapse was more stunning for the quality on the defensive side of the ball. Methinks this will tax a LOT of the off-season for Andy Reid and Co.

Alex Smith A 49er For One Day from The Salinas Californian

Then there was Alex Smith. Now quarterbacking the Kansas City Chiefs, Smith has played in this event before, but as a 49er. His appearance may have come as a surprise to most, but he also received the loudest ovation.

Mark Eckel: Where Is Michael Vick Headed? from NJ.com

Kansas City - Here's your surprise team. Yes, Alex Smith had a good year with the Chiefs in Reid's first year.

But the admiration between Vick and Reid is very strong. Let's just say, if the Chiefs called, Vick would be on a flight that day.

Andre Open to Coaching In NFL from BuffaloBills.com

"I really enjoyed myself in California at the NFLPA bowl. I enjoyed myself in a couple of other bowl games that I've been in. I really enjoyed myself in Kansas City last year with Andy Reid's staff," Reed said. "Being back in the pro game as a coach I'm sure if I want to pursue it I can do that.
