Chiefs Running Backs: By The Numbers from The Mothership

Days after Kansas City Chiefs three-time Pro Bowl RB Jamaal Charles was honored as the 2013 Fantasy Football Player of the Year, it seems fitting to review the body of work done by the rest of Jamaal's running mates. We recently looked at Jamaal's spectacular season,including his 259 carries for 1,287 rushing yards and 12 TDs, added to his team-high 70 receptions for 693 yards and 7 TD receptions, but he would be the first to admit he couldn't achieve such ridiculously-good numbers without Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, RBs coach Eric Bieniemy, the Chiefs O-line and his fellow RBs.

Arrowhead Stadium is more than just the home of the Chiefs, it holds history, it has seen some of the greatest players in the NFL and serves as a gathering place every Sunday to unite and create the Sea of Red. Arrowhead Stadium is a place of pride for Kansas City and now fans can experience it behind the scenes in a new way.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs are offering Self-Guided Tours at Arrowhead. The tours will be offered on Saturdays and will include access to the newly-renovated Chiefs locker rooms, the Hall of Honor presented by Time Warner Cable, along with a chance to step on the sidelines and toss around game-used footballs.

The 2014 NFL calendar kicks off on March 11, opening the door to the free agency period.

The Chiefs currently have 12 players scheduled to be unrestricted free agents, as annotated in early January by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).

Headlining the NFLPA's list are Pro Bowlers, left tackle Branden Albert and wide receiver/punt returner Dexter McCluster, and also key contributors, right guard Geoff Schwartz and safety/kick returner Quintin Demps.

"He's not your prototypical big NFL receiver, but he's very savvy and crafty in his route running and that's what's given him a lot of success out there," Roughriders assistant general manager Jeremy O'Day told the Kansas City Star. "I don't think you'll find a tougher guy ... when he does get hurt, he plays through those injuries, and he doesn't want to come out of games and he doesn't want to miss practice."

The Chiefs have not announced the signing, which appeared on the NFL's transaction report.

12. Kansas City (no change): How in the name of Hades does one of the regular season's best defences give up 45 points after being handed a 38-10 lead? Seriously, I'd like to know. Yes, we'd seen the old Houston Oilers blow up in more amazing fashion against Buffalo in 1993 (from 35-3 down), but the Chiefs' collapse was more stunning for the quality on the defensive side of the ball. Methinks this will tax a LOT of the off-season for Andy Reid and Co.
