These 3 free agents make sense for the Kansas City Chiefs

Greg Bedard of The MMQB ranks the top 100 free agents. Let's look at the KC Chiefs connections.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Where will all the 2014 NFL free agents go? They're going to sign with ... someone. We just don't know who yet, and we won't know until free agency starts on March 11. But that hasn't stopped folks from making predictions.

Greg Bedard of The MMQB is listing out his top 100 free agents, starting with 100-51, which he has unveiled here. Bedard is making predictions on where each player could fit (predictions ... not a report).

For the Chiefs free agents, he has Kendrick Lewis going to the Dolphins and Jon Asamoah going to the Giants. Both make sense. The Dolphins are losing Chris Clemons in free agency and it's well known the Giants are looking for guards.

He also connected three other free agents to the Chiefs. Make sure you read his blurbs here because Bedard is pretty good. My thog

91. LB Desmond Bishop

Bishop, an inside linebacker, was a free agent last year in June. The Chiefs were reportedly among the teams interested but he signed a one-year deal with the Vikings. I feel like fans had a lot of interest in him last year partially because nothing else was going on in June. Bishop played in Green Bay from 2007-2012 so he has the connection to Chiefs GM John Dorsey. He'll be 30 years old next season. He missed the 2012 season with injury.

67. LB Brandon Spikes

A 2010 second round pick by the Patriots, Spikes is hitting free agency. He had a knee injury that landed him on IR late last season. He stands 6'3 and weighs 250 pounds. Not much of a coverage linebacker.

Bishop AND Spikes wouldn't make sense ... but one or the other would.

64. CB Walter Thurmond

The Seahawks cornerback. Now this is interesting. He is 5'11 and 190 pounds. The Chiefs prefer bigger cornerbacks so Thurmond is right there. The Chiefs have starters Brandon Flowers (due a lot of money) and Sean Smith as well as third corner Marcus Cooper. Take all the talent you can get in the secondary when you play Peyton Manning twice.
