The Kansas City Chiefs have been connected to defensive linemen in the 2014 NFL Draft. Mel Kiper's initial mock draft has the KC Chiefs selecting Notre Dame defensive end Stephon Tuitt. The Chiefs could be losing Tyson Jackson to free agency in March, which would open up a starting job on the Chiefs defensive line. That's why watching this group of defensive linemen today is notable.
We've also wondered if the Chiefs would take a pass rusher early in the draft, such as one of the outside linebackers working out on Monday. It seems like a long shot but the position is important enough that it should be on our radar as a possibility. When talking about the Chiefs last week, Mike Mayock said that the Chiefs probably won't be able to carry Justin Houston and Tamba Hali for very much longer.
