The 7-6 Kansas City Chiefs are facing three consecutive must-win games following their Week 14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. If the Chiefs can win out, which seems highly unlikely given the way they have played in the last three weeks, they will have a good shot at a playoff berth.
The first of the Chiefs three must-win games comes on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders where they are a heavy favorite. The line is between 9.5 to 10.5 points depending on where you look.
The Chiefs are, without question, the better team. They should win the game as the odds indicate. The problem is, we said the same thing three weeks ago when the Chiefs went into Oakland and gave the Raiders their first win of the season. That game is yet another reminder that "Any given Sunday" is a real thing.
The difference between the game three weeks ago and this one is that the Chiefs will be playing at home. The Arrowhead crowd should be good knowing that a loss will more or less eliminate the Chiefs playoff hopes.
It's amazing how differently we look at things now. Three games ago, the Chiefs were on a five-game winning streak looking to make it six against the NFL's only winless team. Now the Chiefs must win to keep their hopes alive.
