Kansas City Chiefs work out free agent defensive end Travis Chappalear

Chappalear is a product of Northwest Missouri State.

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to check out potential late additions to the roster and practice squad as they approach both the postseason and offseason. The latest prospect to work out for John Dorsey and the Chiefs staff is defensive end Travis Chappalear, per Aaron Wilson.

Chappalear is familiar with the region already after spending time at both Missouri State and Northwest Missouri State. The defensive end charted at 6'5, 263 pounds coming out of college in 2013 but failed to get drafted that year. The 25-year-old has spent time on several teams for limited stints, including the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dallas Cowboys.

NFL Draft Scout had Chappalear ranked at No. 51 of 148 defensive ends coming into the draft in 2013. You can see highlights below.
