Kansas City Chiefs injury report has some Thursday changes

Updating the Chiefs Thursday injury report.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

There are some interesting things going on with the Kansas City Chiefs injury report but not in a good way. Anthony Fasano and Jamell Fleming did not practice on Thursday, marking their second consecutive day of missed practice. We'll see what happens on Friday but most players who miss consecutive practice like that do not play. I'll wait particularly on Fasano as he's a veteran but I wouldn't count on those two on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

After practicing on Wednesday, AJ Jenkins and Chris Owens did not practice on Thursday. CB Phillip Gaines went from a full practice on Wednesday to a limited practiced on Thursday. Anytime you're downgraded during the week it's a concern. I'm not sure if that was just more about resting those players or if they have an injury that could prevent them from playing. Remember that Owens missed multiple weeks with a knee injury before returning last week. Jenkins is already replacing Donnie Avery, who is also on the injury report, so the Chiefs will hope one of them can play.

Speaking of Avery, that's the other big question this week. He has been out since Week 5 but this is the closest he's been to returning since that sports hernia surgery. That would be a nice boost for the Chiefs offense although Avery would have to shake off the rust.
