In a bit of a surprise, the Kansas City Chiefs have cut defensive lineman Damion Square while elevating safety Daniel Sorensen from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. OT Curtis Feight, who was cut earlier this week, was re-signed to the practice squad.
Sorensen was a popular pick to make the KC Chiefs roster out of training camp and he did briefly but he was later cut. The Chiefs brought him back to the practice squad and he now makes an appearance on the 53-man roster. It's not clear if the Chiefs plan on making him active for Sunday's Jets game.
Square was signed to the Chiefs roster on cut down weekend. He was previously with the Eagles. Square has been on the 53-man roster but inactive every game this season. He never played so I can't tell you what he can or can't offer. We'll see if he's a Chiefs practice squad candidate down the road.
