The return of Eric Berry is upon us.
The Kansas City Chiefs safety has been out since he injured his ankle in Week 2. It's now Week 9. That's a long time. Berry will return to the field on Sunday against the New York Jets, Andy Reid confirmed on Friday.
Reid did say that Berry would play but he did not say whether Berry would start the game.
Ron Parker has done a fine job replacing Berry in the secondary. He's a versatile player so the Chiefs can find a spot for him if Berry does return. Parker also allows the Chiefs to work Berry back in a limited role if that's what they decide to do given he's been off for six weeks.
