We saw one change to the Kansas City Chiefs injury report from Wednesday to Thursday. WR Junior Hemingway did not practice on Wednesday but returned for a limited practice on Thursday. Hemingway strained his hamstring in last Sunday's Chiefs-Chargers game. It's unclear where he stands on being able to play on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams but practicing on Thursday is a good sign.
The rest of the Chiefs injury report remains the same. With Chris Owens not practicing again, it's not looking good for his chances to play on Sunday. That would mean more Phillip Gaines as we saw last week. And you know what? He played pretty good. i was concerned about Owens' absence last week but I am less so after seeing Gaines performance.
Then there's Eric Berry who remains limited. It's not clear if he will play. He has been out since Week 2 with an ankle injury. If / when Berry does return, he may not get his full amount of reps in a game because he has been out so long. It takes a minute to get back to normal after that kind of absence. The Chiefs have surprisingly been OK with Ron Parker taking his reps at safety so I'm less concerned about that now that we've seen the Berry-less Chiefs for five weeks now.
We talked about Travis Kelce yesterday. Sounds like he will be fine.
