Best and worst fantasy football picks for Kansas City Chiefs vs. St. Louis Rams

New, comments

I see a couple of players this week that make sense in your Fanduel league, and a few others that don't make much sense.

This week's Chiefs-Rams fantasy outlook:

QB Alex Smith: The Rams pass rush should be so much better but statistically it's one of the worst in the league. I'm not buying that they're that bad but they do give up a lot of points so Smith should be a consideration if you want to roll the dice. I found this interesting: Rams QB Austin Davis is a more expensive Fanduel player than Smith.

RB Jamaal Charles: The Rams are 28th in rushing yards given up. Jamaal Charles is really freakin' good. You know what to do here.

RB Knile Davis: With Charles fully healthy, you can't count on Knile Davis. He had 16 snaps last week. He's a complementary player with Charles in there.

Editor's Note: FanDuel is hosting a $500,000 one-week fantasy football league this weekend. It's $10 to join and first place wins $40,000. League starts Sunday 1 PM ET and ends on Monday night. Here's the link.

TE Travis Kelce: He is the ninth most expensive tight end. The price on him continues to go up but I still believe he is a bargain. It's a small sample size but he catches touchdowns, which is obviously a huge part of the scoring. Kelce wasn't a major factor in last week's game until the second half. This week, despite his sore ribs, the Chiefs should do more to get him involved early. I would buy Kelce.

WR Dwayne Bowe: The Show had his best game of the season with five catches for 84 yards last week. The Chiefs have to be focused about getting the ball to Bowe and making it a priority. The problem is that Bowe or the Chiefs receivers don't score touchdowns. In fact, not a single Chiefs receiver has a touchdown this year. For that reason you can't count on Bowe. I would pass.

Defense: My gut is that the Chiefs are facing a guy I have barely heard of so you should start their defense. Austin Davis is actually playing well though. Can he play well in front of the loudest visiting crowd he will face all season? There will be mistakes. I'm not in love with the Chiefs defense this week but they're worth consideration.
