The Kansas City Chiefs are no longer 'dogs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-point favorites over the St. Louis Rams, according to the Week 8 NFL odds. The same Rams team that just beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The Rams won that game with a quarterback named Austin Davis who completed 18-of-21 passes and this terrific fake punt by the St. Louis special teams.

The Chiefs are 3-3 after beating the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The Rams are 2-4 but don't let the record fool you. Like last year, they're going to be a tough out. The Rams were within striking distance of beating both the Cowboys and Eagles, two of the best teams in this early season. They already beat the Seahawks. That doesn't sound all that different from the Chiefs, whose resume includes close losses to the Broncos and 49ers.

The game will be played at Arrowhead where the Chiefs have lost four of their last five. The most recent game was the Chiefs run game beat down of the Patriots on Monday Night Football, 41-14.

I am picking the Chiefs in this game because they are the better team but it's not a gimme like some might be thinking. Given they're starting Austin Davis at quarterback (Who? Yeah, exactly), the Rams are a tough out.
