The Kansas City Chiefs will be without two of their starting backfield members this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, with Andy Reid listing Eric Berry and Chris Owens as officially out.
Just got out of very quick Friday Andy Reid presser. Berry and Owens have been ruled out. Same for Avery but we already knew that. #Chiefs

This is not surprising, but still a blow against a team that has a bevy of receiving weapons and Philip Rivers tossing around the pigskin. This will put even more pressure on the front seven, especially the pass-rushing duo of Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. For the Chiefs to have success defensively, they need to pressure Rivers and hit him early and often.
On the good side of things, Berry at least practiced this week. After missing practice for the past three weeks, the All-Pro safety has put in some work. Without Berry, Ron Parker will remain in the starting spot while Phillip Gaines probably takes over for Owens. Good luck rook.
