Chiefs injury report for Wednesday

WR Donnie Avery: Ruled out for Sunday's game with his sports hernia surgery.

CB Chris Owens: He is day to day but will not practice on Wednesday. He collided with Phillip Gaines in Week 5.

S Eric Berry: He WILL practice once again. Reid said, "He went through Monday's practice and felt good. He's going to go through today's. Well just see how he does. He came back and felt good. So I'm pretty good with him for today and then we'll see how it goes from there."

RB Cyrus Gray: Will not practice with his fractured hand but could later in the week.

Nico Johnson signed by the Bengals

Reid confirmed that the Bengals signed LB Nico Johnson off the Chiefs practice squad. "We wish him the best of luck there. It's an opportunity for him to make their roster and have an opportunity to play."

He also confirmed that the Chiefs signed LB Orie Lemon to the practice squad. "I thought Orie was a smart kid and moved around pretty good. This gives him an opportunity to get himself back in and playing. We'll see how he does."

Good point about Andy Reid's 13-2 post-bye week record

"We didn't do too well last year with it so we have plenty of room to improve," Reid said.

On Brandon Flowers

Reid also said a few times that Brandon Flowers was "a good football player." He also said he wasn't sure if Flowers would be playing this week with his injury last week.

Chiefs plan to watch the Royals

"Congrats to the Royals," Reid said. "I know they have a big one today. We look forward to watching them after practice. We're wishing them the best of luck obviously."
