Earlier in the week Alfie Crow over at Big Cat Country, SB Nation's Jaguars blog, asked their readers which KC Chiefs player is the biggest concern for the Jaguars entering Week 1. The answer, as you'd expect, was the great Jamaal Charles.
Now let's flip it.
Which Jaguars player should concern the Chiefs the most?
You want me to pick Maurice Jones-Drew, and there's a good case for that. With Blaine Gabbert hurting (thumb injury) and Justin Blackmon and Marcedes Lewis missing the game, the Jaguars are going to be running the ball, probably quite a bit. MJD is an obvious answer here.
But I'm gonna surprise you a little and say defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks. Alfie Crow tells us that Marks has had a very good preseason rushing the passer."He led the Jaguars defense in quarterback hurries and has been dominating guards all camp and preseason," Alfie said.
Why is that important? Because the Chiefs have a few questions on the inside of the o-line entering Week 1. Starting guard Jon Asamoah is fighting a calf injury and may not play. He is questionable. Center Rodney Hudson has had a so-so offseason, certainly not looking dominant. With reserve lineman Geoff Schwartz possibly filling in for Asamoah, this is a situation that bears monitoring. Alex Smith can't operate if the center of the pocket is collapsing.
