Chiefs injury report: Jeff Allen, Anthony Fasano remain out; Brandon Flowers returns

The Kansas City Chiefs injury report for Thursday is out. G Jeff Allen and TE Anthony Fasano are two starters whose status is in question for Sunday's game against the New York Giants. In good news, Brandon Flowers and Kendrick Lewis returned to practice.

Did not practice: Jeff Allen (calf), Anthony Fasano (ankle), Travis Kelce (knee)

At this point I would guess that these three players will not play. Fasano, maybe. But the rest of them do not look likely to play. The Chiefs elevated a guard from the practice squad, suggesting they're concerned about Allen's availability. Kelce said he will likely be out a few more weeks so don't expect him to play.

Limited practice: Branden Albert (shoulder), Mike DeVito (neck), Brandon Flowers (knee), Kendrick Lewis (ankle)

Albert's likely just getting some rest. DeVito had a stinger last week which landed him on the injury report but he'll be fine. Flowers and Lewis practicing is GREAT news. There are signs of life there. Practicing today, even in limited fashion, is a good sign for their availability on Sunday. Flowers' knee injury cost him time last Thursday against the Eagles. Lewis's sprain came on Monday of this week.

Full practice: Anthony Sherman (knee), Frank Zombo (elbow)

Sherman was on the injury report last week, too. Zombo has practiced in full so I suspect he'll be fine.

The level of injury concern:

1. Jeff Allen: Geoff Schwartz replaces him if he can't go. Hasn't practiced all week.

2. Anthony Fasano: Chiefs reserve tight ends Sean McGrath and Kevin Brock remain on the roster. Hasn't practiced in multiple weeks.

3. Brandon Flowers: Guessing / hoping / thinking he will play. But such an important player.
