NFL power rankings 2013: Where should the 2-0 KC Chiefs rank?

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of eight undefeated teams remaining. Where should they land in Week 3 NFL power rankings?

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0. They have beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars, who look like one of the NFL's worst teams. They also beat the Dallas Cowboys, who look like a decent team. The Chiefs are 2-0 but they're still somewhat of a mystery to me and to others.

2013 NFL power rankings have been all over the place on the Chiefs. One power rankings poll put them as high as No. 13 before the season. That was too high (back then) even for a Chiefs homer like me. Other power rankings put them as low as No. 26, which is way too low. The truth, as it usually does, lies somewhere in the middle.

If I'm ranking the Chiefs this week -- which I did, more on that later -- I am putting them somewhere around No. 15. Others will have them higher, sure, but right now that's a good spot for them. Through two games they are demonstrating that they are at least an average team. If you don't turn the ball over, as the Chiefs have yet to do this season, and you play good defense, you're going to be ranking in the middle of the league at least. Probably higher.

The Chiefs defense has the potential to make this team very good. Top 10 good. That's why this Philadelphia Eagles game on Thursday will be a good barometer for where the Chiefs stand, especially with tit being on the road.

I'm putting the Chiefs at No. 15. What about you?
