Cowboys-Chiefs odds are out: Kansas City is favored over Dallas at Arrowhead

For the second consecutive game, the Kansas City Chiefs are favorites. There are injuries to Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant but the Chiefs remain a 2.5-point favorite, according to the odds.

Your 2013 KC Chiefs are currently 2.5-point favorites over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. This according to SB Nation's NFL odds page. Steve_in_RI has a great write-up on the line in this week's edition of The Opening Line.

Yeah, yeah, the home team gets three points or whatever they say but this part is fact: The Chiefs are favored in this game. Home team or not. I don't know what kind of line I expected in this game but it's exciting to see the Chiefs as the favorite. Surprised? Yeah I am surprised even though, as I said, I don't really know what I expected.

This of course comes on the heels of the Chiefs being a 3-point road favorite in the season opener in Jacksonville. The Chiefs beat the Jaguars by 26 points. There is some question as to whether the Chiefs played that well or the Jaguars are that bad (or a little of both). Whatever it is, the Chiefs won big in Week 1.

So, I ask you: Is this a fair line? Chiefs getting too much respect? Or just right?

Injuries will play a role, so will other folks putting money on it. Tony Romo appears ready to play in the game. He had a rib injury but SB Nation's Blogging The Boys passes along word that he is expected to be OK. There is also question over Dez Bryant's status as he has an apparent foot sprain. Those injuries could affect the line but Romo is expected to play and he's the one that would play a large role in that. (More on this later in the week. But if Romo can't go ... Kyle Orton!)

The Cowboys, like the Chiefs, enter the game 1-0 after beating the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football in Week 1. The game will take place at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday at 12 p.m. (Arrowhead Time).

So is the line fair?
